Daughter of immortals.

Princess Diana longs to prove herself to her legendary warrior sisters. But when the opportunity finally comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law—risking exile—to save a mortal. Diana will soon learn that she has rescued no ordinary girl, and that with this single brave act, she may have doomed the world.

Daughter of death.

Alia Keralis just wanted to escape her overprotective brother with a semester at sea. She doesn’t know she is being hunted by people who think her very existence could spark a world war. When a bomb detonates aboard her ship, Alia is rescued by a mysterious girl of extraordinary strength and forced to confront a horrible truth: Alia is a Warbringer—a direct descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery.

Two girls will face an army of enemies—mortal and divine—determined to either destroy or possess the Warbringer. ‘he bounds of their abilities, Diana and Alia must find a way to unleash hidden strengths and forge an unlikely alliance. Because if they have any hope of saving both their worlds, they will have to stand side by side against the tide of war.’

Leigh Bardugo really is the queen isn’t she?
this book was everything i needed / wanted / didn’t know i needed / loved all wrapped up in one book and i 🙂 am 🙂 so 🙂 happy 🙂

my only knowledge with Wonder Woman does come from the film, I have never read any of the comics or anything like that so I only have the film to compare too. I felt like Bardugo was really able to prince the fierce amazon to life and it also brings together women, it was a great take of feminism, love, friendship and sisterhood and i really loved this book!

I have no idea how to write a review for this book? like seriously send help my way, I need someone to put my rambling thoughts in my head into some coherent review that would possibly make sense?

weeeelllll since that’s not going to happen I’ll have to figure something out!

  • the world building, the hilarious banter and comments in this book. bravo Leigh Bardugo they were some of my favourite things about this book!!!! I sorta wish the series carried on with Wonder Woman (altho I am v excited to get my hands on batman when it comes out!!!!!).
  • Alia and Diana are total friendship goals through this book, it was so nice to watch there friendship go and you can tell by the end of the book they are more like sisters than anything else.
  • this book has so many sassy scenes (I love saying that) and bravo, i love them so much. i think a smile was on my face all the time while reading this book.
  • I feel like Diana should get her own praise because that girl is strong and brave and powerful and fearless, I mean come on. what a great role model for all women out there!

I just can’t put into words how pleasantly surprised I was by this book, it wasn’t that much like the movie that I found myself comparing the two thankfully, overall it was just so good and I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest! 😀

Thank you to Chelsea @ A Very Bookish Girl for buddy reading this with me!  (even tho I read ahead, whoops) ❤️
