Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
My Rating – 5*/5*
‘Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.’

“I bet you could sometimes find all the mysteries of the universe in someone’s hand.”

i think this may be one of my favourite books this year…

this was a perfect coming of age novel that i fell in love with as soon as i read the first chapter, i knew it was going to be one of those books that i would sit at my laptop for ages trying to figure out how i can even write a review for something so beautiful???

i adored the complex friendship that ari and dante had with each other, they were best friends but sometimes more and sometimes less as they both tried to deal with things happening in their life as they grow up. obviously i can’t relate to them as much as what other people could but i still found both ari and dante interesting characters to read about.

the writing was amazing and flowed so beautifully and i will definitely be reading more books by this author if this book is anything to go by.

ari and dante were different but i think that’s what worked. ari was mystery and dante was as open as a book – but the two of them went together beautifully, you could see why their friendship worked so well.

also, i feel like both sets of parents deserve a pat on the back, they were so supportive and i just love both of their families.

i’m not even sure how to write a review for such a book like this so i’m going to leave it here and express how happy i am that i have finally gotten around to picking this book up and i highly recommend it! ????
