hi everyone, welcome to another top ten tuesday // something that’s quickly becoming one of my favourite posts to write 🙂
today it’s all about books that i’ve lots interest in and will no longer bother reading, some of these books I own and others have just been sitting on my goodreads tbr for far to long!
perfect chemistry by simone elkeles
this has been on my goodreads tbr since 2016, i don’t own it and i don’t think I’ve ever seen it in my local bookstore? I’m pretty sure amazon has it though. it’s got an average rating of 4.07 on goodreads which is pretty good tbf but I think I’ve just lost interest in it, when I read the blurb it still sounds interesting but it’s been two years and I don’t own it and I don’t think I ever will so I think this is just one I’ve outgrown and no longer have any interest in.
yeah, im going to say the author in general, I do feel like I may be too old to read her books now? I think I have all of them on my goodreads shelf and I’ve read one and enjoyed it and I’ve got one of my bookcase but I never have the urge to pick it up and read it and it just keeps getting pushed back to the bottom shelf of my bookcase where I tend to leave books that I’m not that interested in anymore for whatever reason? I feel like I maybe will read at least one of her books (the one I own) again just to see if maybe I should read some more of her work but I’m just not as interested as before sadly 🙁
A Game of thrones by George R R Martin
I actually stopped watching this tv show on season 3??!! I dropped behind and it was taking me forever to catch up so I decided I was going to wait until the final season and then just binge watch them all!! so far ive managed to avoid the pretty big spoilers which is pretty lucky!? as for the books I do own the first one but I think I’ve just lost interest? not only is it a massive book that I’m not sure if I even have any free time to read I’m just not sure if it interests me? I don’t really a lot of high fantasy/adult fantasy as I’m not the quickest of readers and I feel like I’d be on one of those books for months (lol probably exaggerating there but you never know!!!) so I feel like this is just a book that I’ve gradually lost interest in reading.
the martian by Andy weir
I saw the movie the day it came out and I absolutely loved it and immediately went and brought the book and…. well I haven’t picked it up or even looked at it since, its on that bottom shelf with the Sarah dessen book xD I just have no interest in reading the book! I wish I did as I really enjoyed the movie but I never reach for the book, I partly blame all these amazing 2017/2018 releases that I’m still playing catch up on and are just amazing. I would like to eventually read this but for the time being I just have no interest. sorrrryyy 🙁
call me by your name by Andre aciman
I added this to my tbr just because I’d heard such good things about the book and the movie but then I saw a review (if I can find it I’ll link it) which immediately put me off this book and I lost all interest and removed it from my tbr. I don’t want to go into too much detail but there’s something that happens with a peach and just no. no thank you. what did peaches ever do to you? this book and me will not get on so nope, no longer interested in reading it. (protect the peaches 🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑)
the knife of never letting go by Patrick ness
okay, so I have liked every single book I have read by Patrick ness (lol ive only read 2) and I’ve really enjoyed it, this one??? like I brought it last year for my birthday (so in august) and I’ve just lost interest?? can someone who has read it please leave a little comment below and let me know if I should think of picking it up again? I mean I have heard good things but it’s also massively long and like I think it’s part of a trilogy??? do I even have time to start a trilogy when I’m not that interested in the first book?? urm nope.
