Top Ten Tuesday – Books on my spring TBR

This won’t be a TBR exactly because I never really follow TBR’s, I just sort of read whatever I’m fancying at the time, I guess I’ve become more of a mood reader over the past few months because I’m just not sticking to them anymore, so instead of a TBR so to speak here are 10 books sitting on my shelf that I would like to get round to pretty soon!

Β  Β Obsidio by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

This book I’m REALLY hoping to read pretty soon, I’m currently re-reading the other two in the series as this is currently in the post and will be delivered hopefully the day it this post comes up. I really want it to anyway! I have super high hopes for this book because I loved the other two and they both ended up being 5 star reads so I’m predicting this one as 5 stars, watch this space and all that jazz.

Without Merit by Colleen Hoover

I’ve been on a bit of a CoHo train lately and have been having a very mixed love/hate relationship with her books, most of her’s have been new adult that I’ve picked up and I believe this is YA so I hope to get around to this soon to see how different her characters and all that sort of stuff is compared to her new adult books, I have heard quite good things about this book though so I am excited to get around to reading it!

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

This is for two reasons, one being that I’m actually trying to finish series (even though there is a third one coming out) before I start some more, I will fail of course because 2018 has so many amazing book 1 in a series that I won’t be able to help myself, but I did read Nevernight last year and I ended up really enjoying it so I do have high hopes for this book, especially with how the first book left as I really need to know what’s going to happen to everyone.

There’s someone inside your house by Stephanie Perkins

I love Anna and the French kiss and the rest of the books in the series but of course that is contemporary, I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on this book but I’ve also heard it’s sort of like Scream the movie in a way and although I’m a big baby when it comes to scary things I think I’d quite enjoy this, that and I’ve had it on my shelf for so long now and I just think it’s time I finally pick it up and see if I love it or hate it! πŸ˜€

Split Second by Kasie West

If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that I love Kasie West and i’ll read pretty much anythingggg she writes because she is amazing!!! I read Pivot Point last year and loved it (team trevor!!!!) so i really want to pick this up at somepoint over the next few months, hopefully sooner rather than later but reading slumps like to hit me left right and center so who know’s when i’ll actually get around to picking this up xD

Under Rose Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall

This book is one of the books that I have SUCH high expectations for, i’m also pretty sure that it’s going to make me cry buckets but i think i’m going to be okay with that? A lot of my friends on goodreads have all rated this book pretty high from 4-5 stars and it was on sale over christmas so i brought it and it’s been sitting on my shelf for a while now so i really want to read this pretty soon! πŸ™‚

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

Unless you’ve been living in a rock the past month you should know about this book and the hype surrounding this book by the look of it seems to well deserved and i really really can’t wait to find out for myself. my copy arrived a few weeks ago so i think this will be one of the books that i will break my “finish series you’ve already started before starting another one” rule because i just need to read it and love it as much as everyone else does!!!

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

Morgan Matson writes some pretty amazing (if maybe sometimes too long?) books and this is the only one i actually have on my shelf by her that i haven’t read it. i feel like it should probably be saved for the summer instead of spring but it has a cute friends to lovers trope by the sound of it which im 100% okay and here for so i want to pick this up during spring to get me in the mood for summer, it’s snowy here in the uk at the moment so i could do with some summery reads so i can pretend it’s not really cold outside.

The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw

OKAY look at that cover!!!! I have to mention it because it is so gorgeous and i love just looking it at my shelf. i’ve heard really good things about this book, it does seem a little spooky which isn’t always what i go for because i am a big wimp and mainly read at night so y’no??? scary books and me never mix xD
i still have pretty high hopes that i’m going to end up loving this witchy book!!!
i plan to read this pretty soon, i’m BRing with a friend and just waiting for her copy to get here πŸ™‚

The astonishing colour of after by Emily X.R. Pan

I know for sure that I plan on reading this over the next few weeks/next month, i have an arc of this through netgalley and although it sounds a little…odd? i for sure feel like it’s going to be a very moving and thought provoking book and i’m really looking forward to reading it.Β  plus anyone who has read it has given it 5 stars (a few 4) so i know it’s thought highly of so i’m looking forward to finally getting around to reading it!! πŸ™‚

Have you read, want to read any of the books on my list?
If so I’d love to hear your thoughts below in the comments πŸ™‚

  1. I started Obsidio yesterday and I’m reading soooo slowly! I simply want to savor every word of it because I know I’ll be crushed by the end of it. I’ve seen way too many traumatized readers since its release, haha.

I have yet to read Nevernight so I haven’t gotten my copy of Godsgrave yet. People keep telling me to just wait until the release of Darkdawn [I thought it was Darkdawn] isn’t that far off anymore and I think I’ll do just that.

Ordered my copy of Children of Blood and Bone last week so I’m hoping to get that read sooner rather than later but we all know how that goes.. πŸ˜›

    Happy reading!

  2. Children of Blood and Bone, yeeeeees! I`m so looking forward to it. I`m also excited about “The Astonishing Color of After” and “The Wicked Deep.” Great List!

  3. I really liked There’s Someone Inside Your House, and I think it’s going to be a Netflix movie. I hope you enjoy it. I also want to re-read the first two before starting Obsidio but I can’t wait! πŸ™‚

  4. Second Chance Summer is soo good!! I read it last summer, and I think it’s my new favorite Morgan Matson book. Just a warning, I cried my eyes out at parts, but it was so worth it, because I really loved this book! ☺️

  5. I’m so excited for The Wicked Deep and Children of Blood and Bone – I know they are going to be most probably five stars for me because wow, they sound amazing! <3
I also want to read more books by Morgan Matson because I've only read Since You've Been Gone and while I've absolutely adored it, I've never picked up anything by her since then, I will have to change it pretty soon.
Lovely post! I loved your picks!

  6. I absolutely ADORED Children of Blood and Bone–the hype is definitely not wrong. That book’s a riot–but the CLIFFHANGER. It killed me! And Second Chance Summer is definitely NOT a cutesy summer read. Well, it is, to a point, but it’s also much deeper than that and might not be as light as you’d expect.
